Goesand Sas

A bike break at the Goese Sas A bike break at the Goese Sas

  • Goesand Sas (Goes)
  • Beach and swimming facilities
  • Suitable for outdoor use with a dog
  • Perfect cycling break
“It's the kind of place where you just stop, park your bike, and simply stay a while.”

If you cycle through the Bevelanden, you'll find a spot at the Goese Sas where the pace naturally slows. After miles of cycling along dikes and past fields, the water opens up here. The wind provides a cooling breeze, the gentle lapping against the harbour forms background noise, and children play by the water's edge on the small beach. It's the kind of place where you dismount, park your bike, and simply stay for a while.

In the summer, the Goese Sas is a beloved spot for locals from Beveland. Cyclists gather here, towels are unfurled, and conversations drift over the water. Boats moor at the lock, beyond it sparkles the open water, and in the distance, small islands are silhouetted against the horizon. Everything here breathes the relaxed rhythm of a Zeeland summer day.

If you cycle from Goestowards Wilhelminadorp, follow the path until land and water meet. There lies the Goes Sas, with a small harbour where boats gently bob. Cycle past the lock, feel the wind over the dike and descend to the small beach for a short break. From here, you can continue your journey along the water with renewed energy.

When you get back on your bike, you take something of that place with you. The scent of water in the air, the sound of gentle waves and the sight of sailboats on the water. The Goese Sas gives you space to pause for a moment, to cool down and to find your own cycling rhythm again. As you pedal further along the dike and the water, it feels as if your day has become a little lighter.
