We would love to take you to the villages of the Kapelle municipality, where summer and late summer are celebrated every year with festivals full of atmosphere, music and tradition. In Wemeldinge, Kapelle and Schore, you can immediately feel that this is more than just an event. It is coming together, laughing, watching, participating and enjoying moments that truly belong to the village.
Wemeldinge
On the first Saturday of July, Wemeldinge comes alive during the Summer Festival. You stroll along the market, hear live music echoing through the streets and see people gathering for the traditional ring-riding event. The beautifully decorated horses parade through the Dorpsstraat, giving the festival an atmosphere that feels both vibrant and familiar.
Kapelle
In the last weekend of August, Kapelle is dedicated to the Kapelle Days. Children run laughing across the funfair, music plays on the Kerkplein, and that typical festive hustle and bustle hangs everywhere. Between the sporting activities and the exciting ring-riding, you can leisurely stroll along the street market or climb the church tower for a panoramic view of the Zeeland landscape.
Schoor
In September, Schore concludes the festive season with the Schore Autumn Market. On the third Saturday of the month, the village transforms into a cosy market full of stalls, music and a convivial atmosphere. The laughter of children on the bouncy castle, the spin of the roundabout and the scent of warm market produce create a hearty village atmosphere.
These annual festivals show what the municipality of Kapelle excels at: unity, tradition and Zeeland hospitality. You are not just experiencing a standalone event here, but a celebration supported by the village itself. From centuries-old customs such as ring riding to the warm village atmosphere of an autumn market: it is precisely this combination that makes these days so special.
