You know it De Bevelanden like no one else. You know where the most beautiful dike is for a sunset, which farmer sells the best apples and what story lies behind that old port town. That knowledge is worth its weight in gold for your guests. With the Gastheerschap course, you De Bevelanden learn how to share that knowledge in a personal and inspiring way, so that your guests truly experience the region.

For whom?

The course is intended for anyone who De Bevelanden hosts guests. Think of owners and employees of campsites, B&Bs, hotels, restaurants, museums, shops, bike rental and attractions, and of local producers who welcome visitors to their premises. Wherever you are in the Bevelanden region: every entrepreneur who is proud of the region is welcome.

What do you learn?

In 4 sessions, you will get to know the landscape, nature, history, and flavors of De Bevelanden. We combine short lectures with workshops and excursions to inspiring places in the region, each time in a different location. You will discover the stories behind the area and get tools to tell those stories to your guests. In this way, you provide that personal advice that makes a visit unforgettable, keep guests longer, come back more often, and discover more of the region.

Stronger together

Guest hosting is not just about knowledge, but above all about getting to know one another. During the course, you get to know fellow entrepreneurs from the entire region. You exchange ideas, discover each other’s offerings, and from now on you know exactly who you can refer your guests to. That network continues even after the course, with networking events, in-depth modules, and an annual inspirational tour.

Practical information

The course consists of 4 meetings. These take place at different locations in De Bevelanden. Participation is free thanks to the contributions of the municipalities of Beveland and the Interreg Flanders-Netherlands project (Be)Leefbare Schelde. Upon completion, you will receive a certificate and a plaque that identifies you as the host of the De Bevelanden.
