Reimerswaal lies as a thin strip between the Oosterschelde and the Westerschelde. It is a place you immediately recognise by the presence of water everywhere. The tides, the wind and the salty air dictate daily life here. It feels as though the land here still moves with the waves. The water is not a boundary, but rather the heart of this area. Hard work is being done here, both on land and on water. Farmers cultivate the land with care and knowledge passed down from their parents. At the same time, a large part of the population lives from the sea: cultivating mussels and oysters in the clean, salty waters of the Oosterschelde. It's special to see how this combines, the land and the water complement each other and make Reimerswaal what it is.<\/p>\n

The villages here all have their own atmosphere and character. It's not a big city, but that's precisely why you have a sense of community and togetherness here. At the same time, there's a city close enough by to do things you wouldn't find in a small village. That combination makes Reimerswaal special: a place where you have space and peace, but aren't cut off from the world around you.<\/p>\n
