The open water gives way to a long, straight course stretching tightly in front of you. Banks guide your course, while fields stretch past you in wide expanses. Village edges loom in the distance: church spires, rooftops and an occasional jetty touching the water. The engine hums evenly and behind you a gentle stern wave traces a trail through the surface.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n                                    <\/div>\n            <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n            <\/section>\n\n\n<section class=\"block text block--text\">\n        <div class=\"container\">\n            <div class=\"row justify-content-center\">\n                <div class=\"col-xl-6 col-xxl-5\">\n                                        <div class=\"text-wrapper\"><p>Along the banks, cyclists move like tiny silhouettes, bridges stand out against the sky and the occasional seagull floats along with you. You pass parts where the green grows close to the water and other parts where the landscape is open and wide. Sometimes you see a jetty with a single boat, other times a passing freighter briefly stirring the water. The wind has free rein over the canal and streaks across the deck.<\/p>\n<p>In summer, sailing through the canal is a relaxing day out. The sun reflects brightly on the water and warms the deck beneath your feet. Other boats cross your path: small sloops, sailboats with bulging canvases and large cargo ships. People wave and greet briefly.
